225 Macintosh Place
For my ‘SSP’ (Student Set Project) I wrote myself a brief that would challenge my creative abilities as well as the communication problem of revealing the stereotypical male student house, housing 6 different characters from different backgrounds.
After thorough research into each character it was clear to see I had to reveal the different relationships between each house mate as well as the group dynamics and how 6 different characters from different backgrounds have all come together to form a strong bond while living together throughout their time in university.

Applications Used
Adobe Photoshop / Adobe Illustrator / Adobe After Effects /
Final Cut Pro

Aim
My aim was to create a fly on the wall type documentary with a twist, by including narration and animation as well as the natural footage caught on camera during the production of the project throughout, to give a sense of wit and emotion whether it be happy or sad.
I’m happy with my final outcome and had great fun making this project, even if it did get tricky at times I put it all down to experience.

MMXI Promotional Viral Invite
During the build up to the BA Graphic Communication exhibition (titled MMXI) I took charge of a small team of three whose responsibility was to promote the degree show.
To fulfil this brief we had to produce an online invite as well as a poster and an information leaflet.

Applications Used
Final Cut Pro / Adobe After Effects.

Aim
Our aim was to create something impressive and different to anything that had ever been done before on the course.
In order to produce the work to industry standard we shot it all in HD and took time editing the sound tracks and the footage so they mixed well together.
The concept behind the viral invite was that, MMXI (Roman Numerals for 2011 and title of the show) is shown in a tattoo format which shows how the course has left a permanent mark on each individual on the course as creative thinkers.

MMXI Poster and Invite
After finishing the video I was given the job of designing the course exhibition posters and leaflets.

Applications Used
Adobe Photoshop / Adobe Indesign

Aim
The aim was to give the posters and leaflets the same treatment as the viral video invite, since that was the piece that would give the biggest impact on the audience.
Since the video was graded with a blue tint which gave off a very clinical and hygienic look and feel we kept the treatment on every image used within the posters and leaflets the same as the video. The remaining colours used i.e the Navy and the Pink were swatch samples taken from the treated images giving the full project the opportunity to tie together and create a clean and clinical house style.

Valley Of Kings Intro
Like an Egg Productions got in contact with me and asked if I would be interested in collaborating with them on the intro video to the MMA Event titled: Valley Of Kings, held in the MotorPoint Arena Cardiff. (It has since been hailed one of the best British MMA show’s in the Country).

Applications Used
Adobe Photoshop / Adobe After Effects.

Aim
My role in the collaboration was to create animated typography sequences that would be shown during the chorus sections of the backing song of the video (performed by The Astroid Boys). The guys at the Like an Egg studio told me to go wild with the designs because the more mental the video was the better.
I created multiple animations with a variation of typographic designs that had the potential to hurt your eyes if you watched too closely, which was exactly what they wanted. – The video was a success.

Peacock Design – Hugh Laurie Ad
I’m very excited to say that I was very much involved in the production, and given the responsibility of the animation of the television commercial advertising Hugh Laurie’s debut album.
During my time with Peacock, this was the second brief I’d been given by the TV Graphics team.
As well as it being a huge privilege, it was also a great project to work on, and even though at times I found it challenging, with the help from the guys in the studio, I was still constantly learning new things which helped me feed my constant hunger to improve and maximize my current potential.
I’m extremely thankful that Peacock gave me the opportunity to work on something so big, as well as helping me through the process of boosting the quality and quantity of work within my portfolio by showing that I’m very capable of creating interactive outcomes to an industry standard as well the print and web based pieces that all ready exist within my portfolio.

Applications Used
Adobe Photoshop / Adobe After Effects.

Aim
My aim was create a good impression with Peacock Design, and to give a 110% effort into everything I was asked to do so that when I left I would be remembered.
My reward for doing this was seeing my work on national television – An extremely great and proud moment for any creative.
